What is Health & Wellness Coaching?
When you hear Health and Wellness Coaching, what do you think of? Fitness programs that entail endless hours of cardio? Studio HIIT workouts that leave you so sweaty your clothes freeze while you walk to your car in the winter (in Ohio at least!)? Instagram influencers selling booty bands? Fitness models selling supplements? “Coaches” selling their Paleo, Keto or shake meal replacements?
Ok, so all of these groups are selling specific exercise routines, products and ways of eating… and they call themselves “coaches” because they have achieved a physique that the mainstream admires. However, I’m here to tell you that Health and Wellness Coaching is completely the opposite of all of these examples.
Health and Wellness Coaching starts with the client. The client sets their own vision of what Health and Wellness means to them. This may be physical look (weight loss, weight gain or adding muscle) or it may be mental wellness (having more gratitude, slowing down to smell the roses, improving relationships).
Whatever your Health and Wellness includes, we assess your current level of satisfaction in each area of your life including, career, money, overall physical health, relationships, personal/spiritual development, and physical environment. From there, we create a vision of where you want to be in 1- 3 years from now.
And then the real work begins…
We set short-term attainable goals that move you closer to your vision. I give you tools to find your top character strengths to tap into when we encounter obstacles. We discuss your values and how they relate to your goals.
Health and Wellness coaching is an investment in yourself. During the time spent together we unravel undesirable habits and behaviors and put new, productive actions in place. We practice these actions over and over until new habits are formed for you to carry with you beyond our time together.
This is what true Health and Wellness Coaching is about.
